Angela Willcocks: Blotnbyte

October 2015-2016

Angela Willcocks’ year-long BLOTNBYTE project was anchored in a residency in Perry’s Joint, a celebrated local business. Angela met and documented local residents at Perry’s and through partnerships with local community organizations including Mothers Club, and Villa Parke. Willcocks created large-scale drawings of residents. These portraits were then combined with audio interviews about the individuals in the portraits. Wilcock’s project was disseminated across local bus lines with QR codes that enabled local audiences to listen to her audio mixes of local stories.
